Chemnitzer Linux Tage (Linux Days in Chemnitz)
Not only for fans of pinguins
CHALLENGE:
In the meanwhile, using of computer science and programs (software) are a part of the reality that we can't miss any more in our life. Mostly free and Open Source software solutions have a special meaning in this area. The basic principle of the Open Source is related to exploring science and testing, creating or changing new solutions. Chosen themes come from many different areas as e.g. business, development, network infrastructure, science or services. During Linux Day, you have a forum for the newcomers, too. Since February 2009, Linux Days in Chemnitz are certified by the Saxon Culture Ministerium as professional development for teachers.
POSSIBILITIES:
During the Linux Days in Chemnitz, everyone gets your money's worth. Guests can listen to series of lectures and subsequently, talk about it with experts and raise questions. Every lecture lasts approximately one hour and a specific subject will be presented there. You can participate on workshops, too.
In the lobby, you can expect linux live: it's a colourful mix of different stands full with presentations, projects and presented by experts from various companies (among all Tarent, Heinlein, AMD, ((otrs)), Fedora, Univention GmbH, Zarafa, Cisco, T-Systems, Linux Professional Institute, Linux New Media AG, c.a.p.e. IT). Discuss with present professionals and let them show you everything in detail.
ORGANISATION:
This event is organised by students and alumna from various faculties of the Chemnitz University of Technology, members of associations IN Chemnitz and CLUG, members of the computer centre at the Chemnitz University of Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and linux fans.
