Tell us what you think. Did your contribution arise out of your own initiative, e.g. by voting in the European elections or perhaps by taking part in a cross-cultural project? Or did you represent your country abroad in such a way that others had to reconsider their prejudices? Or perhaps you know of someone who deserves to be praised?

Why are you wondering, Aileen, when you write: "Mainly the lectures are in Polish", and "Then the Polish students mainly don’t speak other languages (no English, no German!)" Poland is a free contry and no colony of Germany. The Polish people have a unequivocal right to communicate in their own language in every area of life. I’m wondering whether you write so easily such things about the French, Italian or English universities. The German universities I didn’t mention because there rules the administration’s language, so the German language. About hostels: such student’s hostels are often in Germany too. So don’t exaggerate.
It was real nice to read that you, although your student’s problems in a daily routine, enjoyed the atmosphere of the previous capital of Poland, Krakow and that the city fascinated your heart.
It is obvious that you want to learn the language in a country, you're visiting or in which you're studying. In such way you can learn easier and quicker the language you want to learn.

That’s why I went to Austria and I stay here for the half of the year in row of Socrates program. In fact I didn’t get a hostel room and I have to pay for a private room, but I want to get to know the Austrian people, their culture and customs (Vienna is incredible!!!!). After it I’ll think about getting to know the other cultures. I don’t expect many conveniences. The most important is that I learn something more and I meet new people. I hope that my new friends will look at Poland in another light when they get to know me.

Terence Hill and Bud Spencer at “Trinity is still my name” [“Vier Fäuste für ein Hallejulia”] and further titles are the movies, he turned the whole genre upside down with. For fun in front of the goggle-box!

And I would list the “Relays” and “Nikodem Dyzma” [Polish series from the ‘80s - AB], if I should gave some examples from Polish yard. And generally Pate influenced my world view. Until now I’m scared to go to Sicily. But I don’t think that this here is about actors, actress and movies.

No, PoTomek, I don’t think so. But if a person, even a fictive person, influences you so much that you’ve changed your world view, and then you paste them down.

In the last time my chief influences me, very negatively. That’s why –I wouldn’t write him here down, even on the last position. More over the politicians influence me, because they form my life, and the voters, because they choose politicians. I’m influenced by the big concerns, because they decide for me what and where do I should buy, what should I eat and which TV should I watch. I’m influenced by the weather, by the near and less near surroundings. Generally I’m influenced person. [a influence person in Polish can mean a person with issues as well - AB]
scholar-online builds bridges between Europeans and I like this idea.

Szacunek, współczucie, smutek, oddanie należnego hołdu Prezydentowi to jedno i z tym chyba zgadzamy się wszyscy lub zdecydowana większość. Ale ta decyzja o Wawelu jest zupełnie nieprzemyślan
